Nissan and its motorsport arm, NISMO, were faced with the task of replacing the British Gigawave Motorsport team--which closed its doors just before Christmas--before this Friday's closing date for entries. Series rules dictate that each brand or manufacturer must be represented by two teams, each running a pair of cars.
Gigawave closed just before Christmas, rumored on financial difficulties. Gigawave participated in four races in the 2009 FIA GT Championship.
The name of the team has not been disclosed yet, as NISMO is finalizing the deal with the team this week.
