Motor Trend magazine got a chance to test one of AMS Alpha 9 GT-R’s

Upgrades to the car are as follows.

  • AMS upgraded large diameter compressor inlet tubes and air intake pipes with filters
  • AMS-spec wastegate actuators
  • AMS 90 mm stainless steel 200-cell catalytic converter downpipes
  • AMS 90 mm stainless steel resonated mid-pipe/y-pipe
  • HKS Legamax Tig-welded stainless steel rear exhaust
  • AMS-spec upgraded camshafts with Ferrera Springs and retainers
  • AMS upgraded front mount intercooler kit
  • AMS 76 mm intercooler piping with HKS blow-off valves
  • Cobb AccessPORT tuner with custom AMS mapping with 7400 rpm redline
  • JRZ RS Pro coil-over dampers with external reservoirs
  • Volk Racing RE30 19-inch (10-inches wide front, 10.5-inches wide rear)
  • Continental ContisportContact 3's (285/35ZR-19 all around)
  • AMS carbon-Kevlar hood with air inlets
  • AMS carbon-Kevlar without spoiler

    Motor Trend manages to get 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds, with a 10.4 @ 136.6  mph quarter mile times. The standing mile was completed in 27.5 seconds @ 189 mph.   Head over to the Motor Trend site to check out the full picture gallery.
