The car has performed flawlessly all week and Mark and Joe have done a great job maintaining the car and making sure Steve and Phillip have exactly what they needed all week.  Jodi and Vivian (Phillip’s wife) have been great team moms and looked after the service crew and the drivers better than anyone could have asked for.  We are all very happy to come home with the drivers and car all together in one piece and with a very strong finish!  I am pretty sure this is Steve’s best finish in a Targa Rally and the competition is fierce!  Tony Quinn is a great driver and has a lot of Targa experience with his GT-R having competed in three New Zealand Targa’s as well as others in Australia.  Glenn Inkster is a very talented driver and will surely make a name for himself in the Rally scene.  Watching him flick his Evo through turns is a thing of beauty!

Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 GT-R vs Nissan GT-R R35.

From a roll.  Both cars are all wheel drive, they should be going from a dig.

"Wellington is a lot like it normally is…Cold…Windy…and a high probability of rain!  Not a huge surprise yet very welcomed!  We are holding strong in third place and Steve drove hard today and won a couple stages chipping away time at Quinn and Inkster.  Inkster fought hard and also had a great showing and we are expecting tomorrow to bring an awesome battle!  All three vehicles are running strong and working hard!"

Dunlop Targa Rally New Zealand Day 4 Results

Day 3 results and blog post from Kyle at STILLEN. Head over to the blog for more pictures and an update from day 3.

http://blog.stillen.com/2010/10/targa-new-zealand-2010-day-4-racing-day-3/#more-1425
We have made it to New Plymouth and I am writing this update from a Beaurepairs Service Center.  Tonight we went through the car for a mid-week check up, went through the oil change, checked brake wear, tires, etc.  Also the guys are having to fix the front lip after a local at one of the lunch stops guided Steve straight into the curb when he was trying to get into the parking area for lunch.  They had stacked up some blocks of wood to get over the curb and with three guys watching they guided him straight into the curb and pushed the front lip back!  Mark and Joe have had a pretty easy week though compared to Newfoundland so I guess it’s good to keep them up for a night.  All is good on the car and the teams spirits are high.

Performance Car Magazine New Zealand Day 3 update story

As for the other Italian, O’Connor’s F430 Challenge, that had failed to negotiate a bend, fish-tailed and cleaned off part of the car’s left-rear bodywork. Pininfarina’s sexy lines haven’t been improved by copious use of red duct tape, but at least the Ferrari is back on the road.

10.34 @ 132.2 mph on Stock Turbos

SleepDoc set a new high mark for stock turbos with his Nissan GT-R. He ran a 10.34@ 132.2 mph pass with a 1.50 60 foot time. His best 60 foot time of the night was a 1.48.  Modifications to the car are 1000cc injectors, HKS intake, exhaust, midpipe, down pipe, fuel pumps, burning E85 and rolling on Nitto NT05R drag radials in the rear.

2011 Japan (2012 US) Nissan GT-R Pictures- EGOIST, SpecV, Club Track

The 2011 Japanese model (2012 US) Nissan GT-R's have been shown in more detail recently. Over at NAGTROC, a few members posted up some new pictures. Most of what we see here, will never reach the US. These are nearly exclusive Japan market models. Europe will see the Black edition, and perhaps the SpecV. The Middle East may see the SpecV and EGOIST.

Yes that interior is really pink.  And red.

Interesting color combination to say the least.

I can't imagine many people ordering this combo, but its out there.

Another EGOIST interior color option. This one doesn't look too bad.

Its a much more classy look than the normal black interior.  Is it worth a $100,000 premium over the standard car?

COBB Tuning GT-R AccessPORT with TCM support

The COBB Tuning GT-R AccessPORT, the most popular engine management solution amongst R-35 enthusiasts, just got better! Introducing the AccessPORT with transmission control module (TCM) support, the world's first hand-held ECU and TCM flashing, managing and monitoring assistant, adding a whole new level of transmission control on top of the already impressive engine management capabilities of the original GT-R AccessPORT. COBB Tuning brings the simplicity of the AccessPORT to transmission control module flashing. Now GT-R owners can install maps to enhance launch control and make changes to important transmission settings that enhance drivability and improve performance, all with the simple push of a button!

Just like the original AccessPORT for the Nissan R-35 GT-R, installation is simple. No tools are required. No additional “piggy-back” hardware. No mailing the factory ECU or TCM across the country. No vehicle downtime. No waiting. Not even a computer is required. Just plug the AccessPORT in, flash the ECU and TCM, and enjoy the thrill of increased torque, horsepower and transmission responsiveness.

Installing the AccessPORT on the TCM starts with downloading the OEM TCM ROM for safekeeping, so the TCM can be returned to its stock configuration at any time. Once the OEM TCM ROM is stored, the AccessPORT flashes a new Level 1 map onto the TCM that is based on the Nissan LC2 logic upgrade, but increases launch revs to 3,300RPM and includes more aggressive clutch engagement and throttle curves than stock LC2 logic. The result is a positive launch that gets the GT-R off and running harder than the stock LC2 logic, but with smoother clutch engagement than the previous LC1 logic. Still not enough for you? A simple reflash of the TCM with the Level 2 map will have you experiencing the increased punch from raising the launch revs to 3,750RPM!

The R-35 GT-R transmission is an impressive, but complicated engineering wonder, and sometimes adjustments are in order to get it just right. Excessive clutch drag while stationary will cause the GT-R to want to creep forward at a stoplight, while too little drag will make it feel like an automatic's torque converter. COBB Tuning has implemented Clutch Touch Point adjustment via the AccessPORT, offering +/-7 levels of adjustment to set clutch drag right where the driver wants it. This is a live adjustment that does not require a TCM reflash, simply select the desired level of the Clutch Touch Point engagement, hit Enter and drive!

The original AccessPORT opens the door to impressive power gains for the GT-R, which can exceed the transmission's ability to manage that added power, resulting in clutch slip and excessive clutch wear. The AccessPORT with TCM support offers Clutch Capacity adjustment, which controls the hydraulic pressure applied to the clutch plates. Yet another on the fly adjustment without the need for a reflash, simply select Clutch Capacity from the AccessPORT menu to reveal +/-7 levels of adjustment to control clutch clamping force. Higher horsepower GT-R's can eliminate unwanted clutch slip with a +2 or +3 level of Clutch Capacity. Don't let all that power go to waste!

Due to the complex nature of the GT-R's transmission, normal wear and tear can cause jerky shifting and less than ideal drivability. Nissan recommends an annual gearbox optimization routine to recalibrate the transmission. The AccessPORT with TCM support incorporates this Clutch Gear Learning routine and allows the owner to recalibrate at will, without a potentially expensive trip to the dealership. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions via the AccessPORT screen and recalibrate the transmission to eliminate wear related drivability compromises.

Of course, the Nissan GT-R AccessPORT with TCM support comes with all of the power gains and features of the original GT-R AccessPORT. Store multiple maps, live map switching on-the-fly, fast map flashing, factory in-dash display knock indicator, data logger, monitor engine sensors, measure 1/4 mile and 0-60mph times, read and clear DTC codes, even flash a valet map to prevent abuse while out on the town or an antitheft map to prevent engine start. For the ultimate power gains, have your GT-R professionally tuned on a dyno by a tuning expert and extract the maximum horsepower available from your combination of performance enhancing modifications. And should the need ever arise, simply uninstall the AccessPORT and the ECU and TCM are restored to their original condition.

NEW AccessPORT TCM Flashing Features!
- ENHANCED LAUNCH CONTROL: Updates TCM to Nissan LC2 launch control logic with two user selectable launch control modes! Level 1 sets launch control revs to 3,300rpm (300 more than stock LC2) with more aggressive clutch engagement and throttle curve. Level 2 raises launch control revs to 3,700 rpm with the same clutch and throttle characteristics as Level 1.
- CLUTCH GEAR LEARNING: Perform this factory recommended annual optimization without a trip to the dealership. Shift quality degrades as transmission components wear. Performing this optimization recalibrates the transmission, resulting in smoother shifts and improved driveability.
- TOUCH POINT ADJUSTMENT: Use the AccessPORT to adjust the amount of clutch drag while stationary. Eliminate excessive creep or set clutch drag for the perfect launch responsiveness with +/- 7 levels of adjustment.
- CLUTCH CAPACITY ADJUSTMENT: An essential adjustment for higher horsepower GT-Rs to eliminate clutch slip during full throttle upshifts. Increase or decrease clutch clamping force with +/- 7 levels of hydraulic pressure adjustment.

The COBB AccessPORT with TCM support is the ultimate engine and transmission management solution available for the Nissan R-35 GT-R. Access the potential of your Nissan GT-R today!

2011 Nissan GT-R - UK Edition

Nissan in the UK has revealed some information on the 2011 UK (equivalent of 2012 US) DBA R35.  One interesting aspect is the black edition is a no cost option for the R35. They also have only one grade, the Premium, with two interior trim levels. This differs with Japan, as they have Pure, Premium, Black, SpecV, EGOIST, and Club Track Editions.  The price of £69,950 ($110,000 USD) includes 20% VAT(tax), which puts the price without tax at right around the equivalent of $90,000 USD.
NISSAN UNVEILS THE ENHANCED 2011 GT-R
  • Enhanced version of Nissan’s flagship supercar is now available to order
  • More power, better aerodynamics and upgraded design features
  • 2011 GT-R for £69,950 OTR
  • One grade with two trim options

Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd has unveiled the enhanced 2011 Nissan GT-R, which is now available to order at Nissan High Performance Centres nationwide.

2011 Nissan GT-R Outline

Since its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2007, the Nissan GT-R has enthralled its customers as the definitive accessible supercar. The 2011 Nissan GT-R has been developed under the theme of the ‘World’s best multi-performance and pleasure of responsive driving’. The exterior features more strength and stability, while the traditional creative flair associated with the GT-R’s striking appearance has also been updated, to offer improved aerodynamics. A sportier interior complements the enhanced design.

Mechanical

Engine and Transmission

Engine output is significantly improved to 530PS (390KW)/6,400rpm, with the maximum torque of 612Nm from 3,200 to 6,000rpm. The engine cover is, enigmatically, painted red to illustrate its enhanced performance.

By adopting an ultra-low precious metal catalyst and an engine control module fitted with high-capacity microprocessors, cleaner emissions have been achieved. Fuel economy has also been improved by modifying the boost pressure of the turbocharger, valve timing and air mixture ratio along with larger diameter inlet pipes and a modified exhaust system.

SAVE mode is a newly-adopted system, replacing ‘snow Mode’, which optimises driving torque and modifies the gearshift schedule to improve fuel economy when driving on motorways or open roads. The features of Snow Mode are also retained.

Standing start performance can now be maximised through the use of R mode. To activate, the driver must select R mode, depress the brake whilst in gear, apply full throttle and release the brake as soon as possible. The system will monitor oil temperatures to ensure reliability is maintained and prevent further use if the temperatures rise above the maximum allowance.

To help control tight turning at slow speeds a new 2-Wheel drive mode will temporarily shift the car to 2-Wheel drive as long as the speed is below 6MPH and the steering wheel is turned more than half way.

Body

A very rigid and lightweight strut supporting bar, made of carbon composite with an aluminium honeycomb, has been installed in the partition wall of the engine compartment. By linking right and left struts to quickly receive suspension input, the vehicle body’s responsiveness is enhanced.

An additional support member has been installed in the passenger’s side dash panel. The responsiveness of the chassis is further improved by enhanced rigidity achieved by the connection with the engine compartment..

Suspension and Brakes

For the front suspension the spring, shock absorber and stabiliser has been modified to improve the vertical load response of the tyre. The front caster angle is increased from 5°35 to 6°00 to improve tyre road-holding ability when steering and stability in a straight line.

The rear suspension toe performance has been modified by changing the roll centre height to a lower position. This gives an improvement to the grip of the inside edge of the tyres while conducting turning manoeuvres.

An aluminium free-piston shock absorber has been newly-developed, which generates more precise damping force to constantly provide stable road-holding and a load shift that quickly responds to the driver’s input. Reduced shock absorber friction provides a quality and smoother ride.

To help lengthen the life span of the front brake discs a larger diameter disc is fitted (F390+10mm). Developed uniquely by Nissan offering more resistance to fade at high temperatures when driven hard.

Tyres and wheels

The Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT 600 DSST CTT tyre has a new compound to improve grip. With a revamped structure and improved rigidity of tread and sidewall, straight-line stability in rutted roads is enhanced.

Newly-designed, lighter and more rigid aluminium forged wheels, made by Rays are provided to improve tyre responsiveness to vertical load. Knurling inside the wheel has been modified to avoid any tyre rotation deviation caused by the GT-R’s improved engine output. On the wheel surface, the new colour, Hyper Blue Black Chrome, oozes quality and features a performance feel, thanks to a deep gloss created by a five-layered coating.

Design

Exterior and aerodynamics

Even with a more intense and stable chassis, the GT-R’s world-beating aerodynamic performance has been further improved. Downforce has been increased by around 10%, while a co-efficient of drag is further reduced from 0.27 to 0.26.

Stability is improved by an enlarged bumper and grille openings, with increased three-dimensional effects.

The front bumper has been redesigned, with double rectifier fins which increases front downforce by around 10%, while reducing air resistance inside the engine compartment and also increases the air flow through a radiator which cools the front brakes. Each side incorporates an LED daytime running light fitted with a large-diameter reflecting surface emitting a high-intensity white light.

A newly-designed rear bumper with a low centre of gravity has been created and features a sculptured lower part with an extended rear end. By extending the rear diffuser, underfloor cooling performance is enhanced, with reduced air resistance.

Cooling performance for the rear exhaust silencer is improved and rear downforce is increased by about 10% by introducing a rear bumper air outlet, which removes air in the rear wheel housing.

The four tailpipe finishers have also been enlarged.

A high-intensity LED rear fog lamp is now incorporated within the extended rear diffuser.

Six exterior colours are available, including two new colours - Metallic Black, replacing solid Kuro Black and Daytona Blue replacing Titanium Grey.

Interior

A newly-shaped pad and finisher surround the navigation system display, with uniform stitch lines, illustrates the enhanced feeling of quality.

The heater control panel now has a real carbon finish surrounding the switches which are now all finished in matt black.

The paddle shifters have been changed to feature magnesium.

Chrome-plated rings in the console and air-conditioner outlets are finished with a sporty, black and smokey coating.

Seat

Despite the GT-R being a one grade line up, there is the option to choose between two different seat choices at no additional cost..

The two designs are as follows -

- Recaro Black, as the name suggests features the Recaro name and is a leather appointed bucket seat with red side flashes. This comes complete with a dark headlining and a red flash on the gear lever

- The second choice is a premium leather covered seat available in black or light grey. Supplied with this seat design is a light grey coloured headlining providing a lighter feel to the interior

Both seats provide an improved level of comfort and safety while cornering. In addition, fatigue levels are reduced for the thighs and lower back by changing the shape and extending the length of the seating surface. They come with electric adjustment for forward, back and height, along with two switch levels for heated seat intensity.

Pricing

With the new on the road price of £69,950 (incl 20%VAT) GT-R still represents outstanding performance at a competitive price. The standard ‘no extra cost’ specification list remains as strong as always with Premium Connect HDD satellite navigation, Bose stereo system, iPod™ connectivity, hard drive music storage, Bluetooth phone connection, 20” alloy wheels, runflat tyres, and individual climate control air conditioning. Add that to the performance delivered from the V6 twin turbo through the GR6 twin clutch system, with the aid of the 4 wheel drive system, and the on the road price, the GT-R remains untouchable.

700 horsepower Nissan GT-R in the Wet at Infineon Raceway

The GT-R is all wheel drive. However, if there is a lot of standing water, and you are driving a 700 hp GT-R on the track, it can still be a handful.

Brian Lock takes on a soaking wet Infineon Raceway at Redline Time Attack. Trying to wrestling the beast of a car around the tight corners of Infineon, Brian Lock finds himself opposite lock in turn 11 but saves it to finish a slippery lap.

1/4 = 9.1920 @ 163.12mph
60' = 1.5292
1/8 =6.0989 @ 124.01mph
1/8Δ=39.11mph
Fuel=MS109E
*New ET & Trap Speed Record

Alpha 9 GT-R 93oct Best ET:
1/4 = 9.9501 @ 141.01mph
60' = 1.5640

Dunlop Targa Rally New Zealand - STILLEN GT-R Ready

The STILLEN Targa Nissan GT-R is prepared to compete in the Dunlop Targa Rally from October 25th -30th, 2010. In addtion to the STILLEN GT-R driven by Steve Millen, four other Nissan GT-R's will compete in this years event.  The rally takes place on closed public roads in the North Island of New Zealand. Over the 5 days of competition, the cars will compete in 712.7 km (442 miles) of closed stages, and a total of 1464 km (909 miles) of stages.  This kind of event tests a car, driver, and crew to its fullest potential.

After the Targa Newfoundland in 2009, the STILLEN GT-R showed up everywhere from SEMA in Las Vegas to the Spectre 341 challenge in Nevada. Follow the event at the STILLEN blog and on the Targa New Zealand website.

At the end of June Steve and the crew competed in the Spectre 341 Hillclimb Challenge and just two days after competing loaded the car in a container and sent it on its way to New Zealand.  The car needed to leave a little earlier than normal this year because it was going to be the feature vehicle of the largest automotive show in New Zealand.  With a great showing at Speed Show and a few magazine’s writing stories about the car Steve came home and began the work out routine to keep himself in shape for competition.  He also began working closely with his new navigator and letting him know what he was looking for and what he wanted to hear.  This year Steve is throwing Philip Adamson in the passenger seat of the GT-R for the navigator duties.  Philip has co-driven in Targa events before and has some experience in what the driver needs to hear.  Good luck Philip!

Motor Trend Magazine Speaks to Mizuno on the GT-R's Present and Future

Motor Trend Magazine had a chance to sit down with Katsutoshi Mizuno, chief engineer of the R35 GT-R, and talk with him about the current and future Nissan GT-R.  The DBA-R35 has just been introduced to Japan and UK in the last few days.  The DBA is a "minor" change to the Nissan GT-R.  Power is up to 530 hp, wheels, brakes, cooling, interior all get changes and refinements.

Although the R35 GT-R has been sold in Japan since 2007, it seems like it will be around for at least 5 more years.  If there is any Nissan R36 GT-R in the future, it doesn't seem like we will see one until at least 2017.

Is the updated model the biggest change before an all-new GT-R arrives?

"No, no, we continue with current GT-R for five more years."

On the GR6 transmissions, which have been an area of much discussion with the R35 he says:
Considering the issues with transmissions in the past, does it need to be made stronger?
"No need. The issue that happened in the past was that they were damaged in the manufacturing process rather than having a design issue. The design has not changed since 2007.

The first issues would not have been as much of a design issue, unless you  are talking about LC1 and its 4500 rpm launches. There are a few weak points in the standard transmission that are addressed by the aftermarket.

How will you feel if the GT-R breaks the 7:18 lap time on the Nurburgring of the 911 GT2 RS? Will you enjoy breaking the record more considering Porsche's questioning of the GT-R's performances?

"Never under, I order to Mr. Suzuki! Under this time is no good, a little over is better! Because what they do for company pride we do for customer information. So under 7:18 is no good for us, for customers 7:21, 22, 20 is better for GT-R customer."

Interesting.  You wonder how much of a game it really is.  We will always wonder if Nissan has a quicker time in its back pocket.  November 18th, the DBA-R35 is going to be shown in North America at the LA Auto Show.  Soon after that we can start to expect to see driving impressions and comparison tests from all the big magazines and online publications.  How will the car measure up in independent tests against the Porsche, ZR1, or a Ferrari or two?  We will find out in the coming months, leading up to the first quarter release of the car in 2011.

I understand you retire at the end of 2011?

"Nisasn retirement age is 60 and I am already 59 years old. I love GT-R of course, but I am an employee of Nissan, and Nissan regulation is Nissan regulation.

Read more: http://www.motortrend.com/features/consumer/1010_nissan_gt_r_godzillas_godfather_speaks/future.html#ixzz12pTBGpwR
The GT-R may have a new chief engineer and planner for the next minor change.  The question would remain, in 2017, 2018, will there be an R36 GT-R?

Engine and Transmission Enhancements
By modifying the boost pressure of the turbocharger, valve timing and air mixture ratio, reducing intake air resistance by enlarging the inlet pipe diameter, and reducing exhaust air resistance through use of an enlarged section of exhaust pipe, fuel economy is improved to 8.5km/L (10-15 mode) or 8.6km/L (JC08 mode).
At the same time, the engine output is significantly improved to 390kW(530ps)/6,400rpm with maximum torque of 612N·m(62.5kgf·m) from 3,200 to 6,000 rpm. A new red color engine cover is used to demonstrate its greater performance.

Cleaner emissions are realized through adopting an ultra-low precious metal catalyst and ECM with high-capacity microprocessor - achieving SU-LEV certification levels (emitting 75% fewer emissions than Japan's 2005 exhaust emission standards).

A new SAVE mode is adopted, which optimizes driving torque and modifies the shift schedule to improve actual fuel economy when driving highways or open roads. This mode also helps reduce ankle fatigue.
Starting performance while selecting "R mode" for the transmission and VDC-R is improved.
To control tight corner braking phenomenon, which can occur when starting the vehicle while turning the steering wheel, 2WD mode is added to temporarily shift to 2WD driving.

* When the vehicle speed is below 10km/h and the steering wheel is turned more than halfway.

Body Strengthening
A highly rigid, lightweight strut supporting bar, made of carbon composite with aluminum honeycomb material, is installed in the partition wall of the engine compartment. By linking the right and left struts to quickly receive suspension input, the vehicle body's responsiveness to driving operation is enhanced.
An additional support member is installed in the passenger side of the instrument panel. Responsiveness of the vehicle body is further improved by enhanced rigidity for connection with the engine compartment.
For further production accuracy, the fitting precision of the body panels is enhanced and a higher-precision G sensor is utilized in checking the instrument panel during the vibration testing of each vehicle body.

Suspension and Braking Modifications
For the front suspension, the lever ratio of the springs, shock absorbers and stabilizer bar is modified to improve the vertical load response of the tires. Front caster angle is increased from 5°35 to 6°00 to improve tire road holding ability when turning and stability while driving straight.
For the rear suspension, toe performance is modified by changing the roll center height to a lower position in order to improve tire grip while making turns and to better communicate driving feel.
An aluminum free-piston shock absorber design is newly developed which generates more precise damping force to constantly provide stable road holding and a load shift that quickly responds to driver's intention. Reduced friction in the shock absorbers provides high quality, smooth ride comfort.
A thin, large-diameter rotor (F390) developed uniquely by Nissan is adopted to improve braking force, fade resistance, pedal control ability and extend brake rotor life for sporty driving.

Wheels and Tires
The 11MY GT-R also features newly designed, lighter weight and more rigid forged aluminum-alloy wheels. Made by Rays, the wheels help improve tire responsiveness to vertical load. Knurling inside the wheel is modified to avoid deviation of tire rotation direction caused by the higher engine output. On the wheel surface, a new Hyper Blue Black Chrome color is adopted, which expresses high quality and high-performance feel. The wheels' deep gloss is created by utilization of a five-layer coating process.
The Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT 600 DSST CTT tires have a new compound to improve tire grip. With renewed structure and improved tread and sidewall rigidity, straight-line stability in rutted roads is enhanced.

Exterior and aerodynamics
Even with GT-R's already intense and stable form, its world-leading aerodynamics performance is further improved through a number of significant enhancements. Downforce is increased by about 10%, while the coefficient of drag is further reduced from 0.27 to 0.26.

Stability is improved by enlarged bumper and grille openings
The front bumper is newly designed with double rectifier fins and Hyper Daylight with a large-diameter reflecting surface and high intensity white-color LED lights. The design increases front downforce by about 10%, while also reducing air resistance inside the engine compartment. The volume of air that passes through the radiator and cools down the front brakes is also increased.

Additional plated parts are used for headlight inner panels, enhancing the car's strong presence.
The redesigned rear bumper features a lower center of gravity than the previous design, created by a sculptured lower portion and extended length. Underfloor cooling performance is enhanced with air resistance reduced by extending a rear diffuser.

Cooling performance for the muffler is improved and rear downforce is increased by about 10% through use of a new rear bumper air outlet, which helps remove air in the rear wheelhouses.
A newly designed tailpipe finisher with enlarged diameter is adopted. Rear high-intensity LED fog lamps are provided as standard equipment to help improve visibility from vehicles behind in rainy or snowy conditions.
Six exterior colors are available, including two new colors: Meteo Flake Black Pearl (2P) and Aurora Flare Blue Pearl (2P). (Both are special colors.)

Interior
A newly shaped instrument panel pad and navigation system display finisher are adopted, with stitch lines changed to express an enhanced quality feel.

Real carbon center cluster finisher is used, along with matte black finished switches.
The GT-R emblem at the center of the steering wheel has a new velour-like coating, expressing a glossy texture. For the paddle shift, a coating exposing the magnesium base material is applied.
Chrome-plated rings in the console and air-conditioner outlets are finished with a new black smoky coating, expressing greater sportiness.

Seat
Seats for Pure edition and Premium edition provide an improved level of comfort and safety while cornering. In addition, fatigue levels are reduced for the thighs and lower back by changing the shape, extending the length of seating surface and refurbishing the cushion stroke. A new seatback design seatback is adopted to improve fit.

The Black edition has leather-appointed bucket seats using a Recaro design based on the structure of Pure edition and Premium edition seats.

SpecV
Modifications applicable only to the SpecV are as follows:
Engine modifications are the same as the base model with improved maximum power output and torque, as well as enhanced fuel economy, except maximum torque is improved to 612N·m(62.5kgf·m)/ 3,200~6,000rpm (632N·m(64.5kgf·m)/ 3,600~5,600rpm). (Figures in parenthesis are when high geared boost is used.)
To improve abrasion resistance and stability in racing circuit driving, rear brake pad material is changed and VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) balance under braking is modified.
Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX GT 600 DSST CTT tire is adopted as a standard feature.
Special Rays lightweight aluminum forging wheels for the SpecV are adopted from the previous model with the color changed to Metallic Black.

Wajima Maki-e with deep coloring and glaze created by Mr. Sakae Kubota, an accredited traditional craftsman for Japanese lacquer, is used for the GT-R emblem at the center of the steering wheel. The beautiful coloring of Maki-e changes as time goes by.

Bose® Precision Sound System
Specially developed carbon composite-based woofers, which can cancel vibrations through their high rigidity and damping, are installed. In addition, sound quality is adjusted by Bose® exclusively for each owner, depending on individual driving position.
Carbon Rear Spoiler

EGOIST adopts a dry carbon rear spoiler (also used in the SpecV). Providing stable aerodynamic performance, even when driving at more than 300km/h, the rear spoiler gives an intense look in the rear with its black carbon color.

RAYS Forged Aluminum-Alloy Wheels
Lightweight and highly rigid forged aluminum-alloy wheels, also used in the SpecV, reduce unsprung weight and help provide a supple ride feel. Newly developed five-layer Blue Sword Chrome Color Coating is adopted.

Titanium Exhaust System
EGOIST uses a Titanium exhaust system, also used in the SpecV, providing agile accelerator response and a clear, exhilarating exhaust sound.
