The custom Nissan Quashqai R, built at Severn Valley Motorsports in Telford, Shropshire, which at 1100bhp is the worlds fastest SUV. 20th May 2014. A humble Nissan people carrier has been transformed into one of the world's fastest cars - capable of more than 200MPH. The Qashqai is one of Britain's most popular motors but it has never been associated with high performance. But now a British firm has turned the modest car into a behemoth capable of outrunning the quickest of supercars. It is quicker than a Mclaren P1 - and costs a whopping £275,000. Engineers at Severn Valley Motorsport, in Telford, fitted the Qashqai with a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged engine which now develops a staggering 1,100bhp. This gives the five-seat family hatchback, called the SVM Qashqai R, a top speed in excess of 200mph. On top of the mighty top speed, the Qashqai also has brutal acceleration, going from 0-62mph in just 2.7 seconds. It will do 0-124mph (200kph) in 7.5 seconds and cover a quarter-mile sprint in 9.9 seconds - crossing the line at 144mph. The McLaren P1, meanwhile, will do 0-62mph in "less than three seconds", 0-124mph in seven seconds and the quarter-mile in 9.8 seconds. SVM's Qashqai has the underpinnings from a Nissan GT-R sports car.
