Only 43 Nissan R35 GT-R EGOIST and closely related VVIP models are believed to have been produced. One of those exceptionally rare cars is now available through Toprank in Japan.
This 2011 GT-R EGOIST is finished in the EGOIST exclusive Ultimate Opal White, color code QAG, over a handcrafted white and black full leather interior. It combines the major 2011 R35 performance updates with the most elaborate luxury treatment Nissan ever offered for the GT-R.

The Luxury R35 GT-R
Nissan developed the EGOIST in a completely different direction from the performance focused GT-R SpecV.
The SpecV removed the rear seats, added carbon ceramic brakes, revised the suspension and concentrated on track performance. The EGOIST retained the capability of the standard GT-R while surrounding its occupants with materials and craftsmanship normally associated with much more traditional luxury cars.
The interior was extensively covered in handcrafted leather produced by Seton Company in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. Leather was applied to the seats, dashboard, doors, center console and other interior surfaces.
The leatherwork was complemented by suede upper trim and a handcrafted Wajima lacquer GT-R emblem. This combination of German leather craftsmanship and traditional Japanese lacquer work made the EGOIST unlike any other factory R35.
The white and black cabin shows why the EGOIST is much more than an appearance package.
Why Only 43 Cars Matters
Nissan produced the R35 GT-R for nearly two decades, but many of its best-known special versions were built in much larger numbers than the EGOIST.
Approximately 110 GT-R SpecV models were produced. Nissan limited the Midnight Opal Special Edition to 100 cars worldwide, while approximately 79 completed 45th Anniversary cars have been documented.
The accepted EGOIST total is only 43 cars, including closely related VVIP versions supplied to selected export markets. That makes it one of the rarest factory versions of the R35.

The Major 2011 R35 Update
The EGOIST was introduced with one of the most important updates in the history of the R35.
Nissan increased output from the VR38DETT to 530 PS and 612 Nm of torque. The changes included revised intake and exhaust systems, new engine management calibration, transmission refinements, increased chassis rigidity, suspension revisions and new aerodynamic bodywork.
The Bilstein DampTronic suspension was retuned, the GR6 transmission continued to evolve, and the revised body improved both cooling and aerodynamic performance.
The result was an R35 that was faster, more refined and better suited to the grand touring mission of the EGOIST.
EGOIST Exclusive Equipment
The EGOIST combined its bespoke interior with several desirable components related to the GT-R SpecV.
- Handcrafted full leather interior
- Suede upper interior trim
- Wajima lacquer GT-R emblem
- Carbon fiber rear spoiler
- Blue Sword Chrome finished forged RAYS wheels
- Titanium exhaust system
- EGOIST specific exterior and interior combinations
- Specially configured BOSE audio system
The EGOIST was not simply a Premium Edition with white leather and additional badging. Nissan changed the materials, production process, interior finish and exterior details to create a genuinely separate R35 model.
Ultimate Opal White and BOSE Precision Sound
This example was ordered with two of the most desirable and expensive factory options available for the EGOIST.
Ultimate Opal White, QAG, was an EGOIST exclusive color with a factory option price of ¥525,000.
The car also has the optional BOSE Precision Sound System, which originally cost ¥1,207,500. Together, the paint and audio system represented more than ¥1.7 million in factory options.
The white exterior and white and black leather interior are particularly appropriate for an EGOIST. The light interior makes the extent of the leatherwork immediately visible and separates the car from a conventional Premium Edition or Black Edition.
New Tires and TPMS Sensors
This GT-R has recently received new Dunlop SP Sport MAXX GT 600 DSST CTT tires and new tire pressure monitoring system sensors.
Correct tires matter on an R35. The original run flat construction, tire age, matching specifications and TPMS operation should all be considered when inspecting an older GT-R.
Installing new tires and sensors removes two significant age related maintenance items and makes the car ready to be driven and enjoyed.
Buy, Drive and Store It in Japan
This Japanese market 2011 GT-R is not yet eligible for normal United States importation under the federal 25 year exemption. Eligibility will depend on the car’s exact month and date of manufacture, not simply the model year shown on the registration.
An American buyer does not have to wait until the car becomes 25 years old to purchase it.
Toprank can assist with the purchase, inspection, Japanese storage, maintenance, registration and ownership of the car while it remains in Japan.
The owner can potentially return to Japan, drive the car, attend events, visit GT-R specialists, and enjoy it at locations such as Fuji Speedway or Tsukuba Circuit before eventually importing it.

A Rare Opportunity for an R35 Collector
The R35 is entering a period where production numbers, factory originality, special equipment, documentation and unusual specifications are becoming as important as horsepower.
The EGOIST represents a very specific part of GT-R history. It was Nissan’s attempt to prove that the R35 platform could support not only a world class performance car, but also a genuinely handcrafted luxury flagship.
With only 43 EGOIST and closely related VVIP cars believed to have been completed, opportunities to purchase one will remain uncommon.
