For the second consecutive year, 7-Eleven and Mattel have released an exclusive Hot Wheels model. The 2026 release uses the 2017 Nissan GT-R casting, representing the heavily revised version of the R35 that received new bodywork, an updated interior and 565 horsepower in North American specification.

Where to buy the 7-Eleven Hot Wheels GT-R

The Nissan GT-R is being offered at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores, as well as through the official 7Collection merchandise store, while supplies last. Availability will vary by location.

Try retail first. The official price is $7.11. Online asking prices can be substantially higher once shipping is included, and they can move quickly after the initial release. If the official store is sold out or your local stores did not receive the car, compare the total delivered price across several listings.

What makes this Hot Wheels R35 different?

The release is based on the 2017 GT-R rather than one of the many Skyline GT-R castings. The real 2017 car was an important point in the R35 timeline, with the most substantial visual and interior update since the original production model appeared. That makes it a fitting modern GT-R choice for a branded collector release.

The white body carries 7-Eleven graphics and the familiar green, orange and red color scheme. The card artwork is part of the appeal, so sealed collectors should look closely for bent corners, soft edges, creases and cracked blisters. If you intend to open it, package condition matters much less and may save a few dollars.

Is it collectible?

It is certainly collectible in the ordinary sense: it is a store exclusive, uses a popular Japanese performance car and follows an earlier 7-Eleven Hot Wheels collaboration. None of that guarantees a future value. Production quantity, distribution and long term collector demand will matter more than high asking prices during release week.

For most GT-R owners and fans, the sensible play is simply to buy one near retail and enjoy it. Paying a large premium only makes sense if local stock is unavailable and the convenience is worth the difference to you.

Want the full size version? R35 GT-Rs for sale in Japan

If a 1:64 GT-R is only the beginning, Japan remains one of the most interesting places to search for the real thing. Japanese inventory can include specifications that are difficult to find in the United States, including Premium Edition T-spec cars, Track Editions engineered by NISMO, R35 GT-R NISMO models, rare factory colors and very low mileage final production examples.

2025 Nissan GT-R Premium Edition T-spec

This Japanese market final year T-spec is finished in JW0 Millennium Jade with a green leather and Alcantara interior. The listing showed one owner and only 330 kilometers when checked. Equipment includes Nissan carbon ceramic brakes, bronze forged RAYS wheels, a carbon rear spoiler and final year high precision weight balanced engine components.

2018 Nissan GT-R Track Edition engineered by NISMO

Finished in Aurora Flare Blue Pearl, this Track Edition sits between the standard GT-R and the full NISMO in character. It is a strong option for an owner who wants a rarer factory specification with NISMO chassis influence.

2018 Nissan GT-R Pure Edition

A Pure Edition can be the more approachable way into a later Japanese R35. This example is finished in Meteor Flake Black Pearl and was listed with Apple CarPlay and NISMO Sports Resetting.

Important for U.S. buyers: buying an R35 in Japan does not make it immediately legal for normal permanent importation. The federal age exemption is based on the individual car reaching 25 years from its actual manufacture date. The earliest 2007 Japanese R35s begin reaching that point in 2032. A 2025 car generally would not reach it until 2050. California registration is a separate issue from federal import eligibility.

Toprank can help locate and inspect an R35, purchase it in Japan, arrange storage or Japanese road registration, coordinate maintenance and prepare it for future export. With the correct registration, shaken, insurance and operating arrangements, an owner may also be able to drive the car during visits to Japan instead of leaving it in static storage for years.

Quick buying checklist

  • Check participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores before paying resale prices.
  • Check the official 7Collection store for online stock.
  • Compare the total price after shipping, not just the item price.
  • Inspect package photos if card and blister condition matter to you.
  • Confirm whether the listing is for one car, a pair or a mixed GT-R and Supra set.
  • Treat current listings as asking prices, not evidence of completed sale value.
