GOTO Racing had their R35 GT-R on the track at Thunderhill and took a time trial record, and won a Super Unlimited race with NASA.
My brother Chris took the car out in a Time Trials group and in two laps beat the overall TT record for Thunderhill. I was racing the car in Super Unlimited, my only real competition was a 700ish HP Mustang AIX car running 335 Hoosiers all the way around. I missed pole by about .6 seconds, although my qual session was in heavy traffic and I was confident that I could go sub 1:49 in the heat of the afternoon on clear track.

Starting in the fourth quarter, the 480 hp Nissan supercar will be officially sold in China, making it a truly global supercar.
According to Dongfeng Nissan, the GT-R has passed certain tests to balance speed and efficiency, high performance and safety, and to be environment-friendly at the same time.

Stillen has just released some more information on the AP racing/Stillen 400 mm carbon ceramic matric brake rotors and pads for the R35 GT-R. Pricing has not been released yet.
The STILLEN-AP Racing CCM brake upgrade kit includes: • Front & Rear CCM brake disc/hat assemblies • Front & Rear CCM-specific street & light track use brake pads • Caliper spacers • Active brake cooling package (Not Shown - also sold separately for non-CCM equipped GT-R’s) Source : StillenOnce found only on the world’s most exclusive supercars, Carbon-Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brakes have been developed for the first specifically tuned aftermarket application – the R35 GT-R. These 400mm disc assemblies are 20mm larger than the standard 380mm OE iron discs, yet reduce weight by nearly half. This is rotating and unsprung weight, improving performance in all categories: acceleration, handling and braking.
AP Racing CCM discs are the next technological platform after almost three decades of using carbon-carbon brakes on racing vehicles (even longer on fighter jets). Advances in materials, process technologies and nanoparticle technology make it possible to use a special carbon fiber precursor along with new, patented process techniques. This precursor is converted first into 3-Dimensional, multi-directional continuous carbon fibers then to carbon-carbon (via methane cracking during infiltration by pyrolysis) and finally to carbon silicon carbide (CSiC). We call it Carbon-Ceramic Matrix, or CCM for short.

Over at the Luxuxy4Play Forums, Chris "illpayne" posted up some pictures of the Tommykaira R35. Body kits car like clothes or jewelry, some don't suit some people. I like them as long as they are functional. Ducts for no purpose, extra pieces to make them look aggressive just aren't for me. The last I remember Tommykaira was not in business anymore. Maybe someone revived the name, or my information was in-correct.
One Kaizo customer recently received a letter from the US Department of Justice about his vehicle. The letter is a little vague as it says “if my information is correct…” , this sounds like they are second guessing themselves. They then say that non-compliant vehicles are subject to seizure and forfeiture.
Then the letter states that the vehicle must be exported within 60 days of receipt of the letter. We had a conference call with a few key people yesterday to start talking about organizing. If you want to try and be a part of this, please contact me at tyndago at gmail.com . Based on the information we have, this vehicle was imported as parts, and reassembled by the owner here in the US. The US allows for vehicles to be imported into the US as parts, and there fore was not “illegally” imported as the US Department of Justice is implying.
Another humorous one here, a nearly one off type car, coming in at $500,000 takes aim at the Nissan GT-R and the Porsche 911 turbo. The actual car was shown this weekend at Monterey, but most of the pictures here look like prototypes. Dark tinted windows, computer generated renderings. Sure ways to drag $500,000 out of me. Every year, there is someone else that "wants" to build a world beater. They come and go like the seasons. They come back around, but then they are gone again.
The car you see above is the Devon Motorworks GTX which it calls a supercar, and Devon claims that it had set a 1:35.075 laptime at the Laguna Seca raceway in California, beating the Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911 Turbo’s 1:39.62 and 1:39.89 laptimes respectively. The company also intends to beat the Nurburgring lap record with this car sometime in the future. First off, there's the extra 441 lbs. of equipment onboard, consisting of a roll cage-enclosed 13-gallon water tank, medium-pressure extinguisher system, hose winding device, and radio communication gear. The extinguisher features a 60-ft. foam reach and a 66-ft. long hose that are good enough to fight a fire for two minutes on one tank.

From Japan. Wangan Midnight live action movie. Does it have a slightly Fast and Furious feel to you ? It does to me. Maybe its just me. Anyway, cool Z's and GT-R's battling P cars on the big screen. I wonder if people do this "Midnight" stuff in real life ? I wonder....

Adam from Autostream.com informed me that this was not the red Switchcars.com R35, rather his silver R35.
They used the custom camera mount by Craig Lieberman to get the sensation of speed.
Synapse Engineering and Switchcars.com present, a lap around Spring Mountain motorsport country club. Remember, red is faster, but silver is ok too.

The initial test at 1.4kg/cm of boost made over 750ps!! On the second run the boost was turned up to 1.55kg/cm2. This maxed out the injectors to 99% for a 834ps pull!!!

The most impressive feature of the VR38DETT power plant is its linear power delivery, creating a quick-responding, well-balanced engine with minimal lag. From as little as 2,200 rpm, the engine develops 350 lb-ft of torque or greater. "As we continue testing the VR engine, we will eventually find out if this well-engineered motor can handle more boost and power than most anticipate," explains Shen, "but at this time, the biggest downfall is the GR6 dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission, and its reliability at handling 700 lb-ft of torque or more."
Inside Line got the opportunity to watch the unloading and uncrating of the Infinti Essence concept car. Why is it on a Nissan GT-R blog ? Lets look at it a little more and see if we see any future GT-R in it.
The concept car is reported to have a 3.7 liter direct injected twin turbo engine that puts out 432hp. The more interesting part is a electric motor that combined with a battery pack increases the vehicles output 158hp to 592hp. Partial electric motor driven wheels, partial engine driven wheels. As weird as the concept may sound, it does actually work.
The direct injection engine is a good thing. The new Porsche 911 turbo is coming with a 500hp direct injected 3.8 liter engine. Direct injection is the way of the future, it makes more power, and is more fuel efficient. Like fuel injection in the 1980’s its still fairly new for vehicles, and tuning and aftermarket parts support for DIG(direct injection, gasoline) cars is in its infancy. The 158 hp electric motors would be on tap for normal everyday driving. They would be powerful enough to move the car around on, and if needed, the DIG 3.7 would start up and really move the car. Expect more of this concept to be reality than the otherway around. Might we be looking at the R36 ?
The Infiniti Essence will be on display at the Louis Vuitton store in Carmel, California, on Tuesday. After the Concours d'Elegance, it will travel to Louis Vuitton stores in major U.S. cities, including Las Vegas, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles.

"We will have a full interior and be running 275/35 Bridgestone RE050 [street] tires. Everyone knows the GT-R wasn't running street tires at the 'Ring,Sport Auto did a 7:38 with a production GT-R. We think they might have an issue or two getting a V-6 , squirrel charged, coil-overed Camaro within 20 seconds of the time they will turn in a stock R35 GT-R. Results can be skewed in anyone's hands, and if they are trying to sell product or prove a point, you are going to want your product to be on top .

Lets see how Nissan answers this. We would like to see a direct injected , VVEL version of the R35 GT-R. Source: AutoBlog
PPG our friends from south of the border, way south of the border, have released some details on their full replacement gear set for the R35 GT-R. PPG aka Pfitzner Performance Gearboxes has been making gear sets for the heritage GT-R’s for years, and is now helping to upgrade the 2009 and up Nissan GT-R. Kris over at GT-R blog posted some information from Mike at GT-RR. Priced at $10,400 its not for every owner, but the extra capacity of a well made part should make up for it on those 700, 800, 900 hp R35 GT-R’s that are coming up soon.
This picture shows the standard 1st gear vs the upgraded PPG 1st gear. 1st gear worries no more. Source : GTR Blog
Ever been well and truly smoked in a race by someone before? That, "I know my car is fast, but that is FAST." This is an example of that. Not sure if the GT-R is stock or modified, but either way didn't matter much. 806 hp of Koenigsegg laid it down, and pulled away smartly. From Wikipedia, claimed acceleration numbers
That has a good ring to it. 740 all wheel horsepower. To make 740 all wheel horsepower out of an RB26, you are running some pretty serious cams, headwork, a set of 2835’s, good fuel, and the rest of the support you need. Something that that VR38 has that the RB does not, 715 lb-ft of torque. The 121.5 mm C-C rod on the RB just does not produce that much torque, for that amount of horsepower. From Jalopnik
the package runs about $20,900 and includes the tunes for both pump and race gas, as well as a larger dual-core radiator, thermostat, and Switzer MONSTER intercoolers. They didn't mention it there, but I am pretty sure it includes larger turbos. It would be difficult to make that much power without upgraded turbos.

Edmunds Inside Line has just posted an article on the Kids Heart hybrid of a Nissan GT-R and a Stagea Wagon . Kids Heart is a shop started by Tezuka Tsuyoshi , well known for driving the Bee-R R32/R34 Nissan Skyline in D1 Grand Prix. The base for the conversion is a M35 Stagea with a VQ25DET , 276 hp engine. A V-6, 2.5 liter, single turbo engine from Nissan, that we don’t see here in the US. The previous generation Stageas were even available though Nissan/Autech as the Stagea 260RS with the full Nissan Skyline GT-R all wheel drive, and the RB26DETT. Cool wagons, to haul the kids and dogs around. Even with rear wheel drive and a VQ25, this car should still be fun to haul the rugrats.
