On this Episode of Ignition from Motor Trend, they take an AMS Alpha 12 Nissan GT-R, and run it on an airstrip. I think they forgot to mention, but the comments section say the car was on 91 octane fuel.  Not too slow for 91 octane.  Check out the video after the break.
